Pizza Is My Muse

Buongiorno from my wonderful work desk at home, a place I’ve missed dearly for the last 3 weeks.

Here I am, just returned from an amazing trip around Italy, where you are what you eat, and I am currently still a pizza.

18 days is a long time to be away from home – long enough for vacation to start feeling like real life, and real life to start feeling like a dream.  We toured Rome, drank wine in Umbria, and cruised up and down the Amalfi coast.  To say the trip was amazing would be an understatement, and those of you who follow me on Instagram (through the widget on the right) probably saw so many pictures on my story you became physically ill.

Unlike a lot of other trips, I completely unplugged from writing during this one.  18 days away from my book isn’t necessarily a recipe for success, but at the same time I feel totally recharged and ready to attack the next few weeks until it is polished and ready to be sent out to beta readers.

I could go on and on about the bread and wine, the pizza and pasta, the views and memories, but I won’t.  I won’t even tell you how magical our three day stop in Paris on the way home was.  You’ll just have to imagine it for yourself.  I know, lazy storytelling, but hey, I’m tired!

Instead I’ll just say I’m happy to be back at this desk, working on what I love again.  More from me to come on Tuesdays as I’m back to my regular posting schedule.  À bientôt!

  1. I’d say Welcome Back, but looking at the pictures, that just seems so, so wrong! Maybe instead, Glad to Have You Back?

  2. I was in Italy last November (Rome, Siena, Florence) and I get it. Best food/pizza/gelato! I was there for 14 days so I get the ‘feeling like my life’ thing…I’d go back to Florence but not Rome. Glad you had great trip!
