A quick post, because I’m neck deep in drafting my next novel (The Sixth Point) while VICIOUS MEMORIES is on submission!
In a moment of madness I decided to put some (which may soon turn into all!) of Vicious Memories up on Wattpad so people can read it for free, hopefully enjoy it, and offer feedback (which should start along the lines of, “Wow, what an amazing novel. You are a GENIUS!”).
If you’ve been interested in reading the book in the past, or are interested in it now, all you have to do is head over to my profile on Wattpad and check it out! You can choose to read it on a web browser, or on the Wattpad app on your phone/tablet (which would probably give you a more ebook-like feel).
For real, though, if you haven’t used Wattpad before I swear it’s completely free, there won’t be a goblin showing up at your door randomly being like “$9.99 a month to continue, sir!” And no, the goblin doesn’t pay me for getting people to sign up.
I hate goblins.
Right now the first 20 chapters are up there, with more to follow. If you do decide to go read it, please let me know what you think using the ‘Contact’ button up top, or in the comments!
And as a refresher if you’re wondering what the hell the book is about, here is the blurb:
Things Oliver doesn’t know:
- How he washed up on this island.
- What the blank keycard in his pocket opens.
- Who he murdered.
When Oliver wakes up he’s drowning in the surf, with no memory of who or where he is. Before he can catch his breath, he is found and captured by a group trapped in a situation eerily similar to his own, stripped of all memories prior to the shipwreck that stranded them on this island two years ago.
Accused of murdering the island’s most beloved inhabitant, Oliver must clear his name by finding the true killer or face exile into the hostile jungle. He wants to believe he’s a good person wrongfully accused. But his obsession with his lost past uncovers a single memory – a memory of him murdering a woman with long black hair.
As the villagers fight off increasingly frequent attacks from a killer who seems to know Oliver, the horrific pasts of those trapped on the island begin to resurface. And when blame starts flying in every direction, the killer seizes the opportunity to deliver a final blow – an ultimatum: leave the island by tomorrow or die there. Time is up. Oliver must uncover the identity of the killer, and the truth of their pasts, or lose their only chance to escape the island forever.
